I'm Kory Fitzgerald, a University of Pennsylvania graduate (2019), with three years of professional experience in equity trading at a top US proprietary trading firm. There, I taught myself Python to program trading algorithms and a website scraper, igniting my passion for coding. After careful consideration, I decided to shift my career towards Software Engineering, attending multiple bootcamps and online courses to gain invaluable full-stack development experience. My professional trading background and division 1 track and field experience have equipped me with the ability to thrive in high-pressure individual and team environments. Colleagues would describe me as innovative, communicative, and persevering. Currently seeking opportunities to expand my skills and industry knowledge, I am confident in my ability to be a valuable asset on any software development team.
Yikyak is a back-end MEN-Stack social media platform using Google Authentication.
This social media application allows users to share what's on their minds while staying completely anonymous. I decided to build this application because many social media users want to post what's on their minds, but the fear of public perception often dissuades them from doing so.StyleSwipe is a MERN-Stack application using JWT Authentication.
Upload, browse, and comment on outfits posted by other users across the web. StyleSwipe considers the logged-in user and can display all outfits of that particular user. We use passed parameters from the req.body to create a personalized index of all the logged-in user's outfits. Using passed-in parameters from req.body was a big stepping stone in understanding how URI calls passed information from the back end to the front.PuppyCollector is a PERN-Stack Django application using JWT Authentication.
Collect puppies using this modern day Django reference application. PuppyCollector uses PostgreSQL, Express, React, and Node to allow users to create, update, delete, and read their "puppy cards." Furthermore, it restricts access to updating, deleting, and reading other user's "puppy cards," based on referencing the user through the "Puppy" model.Battleship is a board game built using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
This game is similar to the Battleship board game but has some Christmas-styled twists to it. I built this because Battleship is one of the best pencil and paper games. In addition, Christmas is both the best holiday of the year and my middle name. As a result, I built this application to combine the two.In this role, I am currently working as a full-time algorithmic/quantitative trader. As an algorithmic/quantitative trader, I am developing trading models using statistical analysis on large sets of data. I am building my trading algorithms using Python and Pine Script. In addition, I earned a certificate for Continued Professional Development in algorithmic trading, while working for Alphachain Traders.
